And in the light of His holiness, sin produces: burden of soul : misery : and results in spiritual death . We are also reminded of the fact that sin is hated by God and separates from God <Isa. 59:2>. The word of God reminds us that the penalty is sometimes delayed ; however, the penalty is inevitable . A Christian should be aware of all these facts concerning God, but does all this knowledge of God control the way you live? Does this knowledge affect the way you make your daily decisions great or small? Are you seeking to please Him in all that you do; are you maturing spiritually; do you know more about Him today as compared to yesterday; Are you really desirous of pleasing Him in all things; is GOD a reality to you?

In the light of His grace and mercy you must honour Him in all your ways. What then should be your immediate reaction? FOLLOW HIM ; no sitting on the fence <Matt. 4:18-22>, the disciples made a decision to follow, not for a short time only, they must have weighed the consequences, this was a call to discipleship – a commitment! Such commitment has CertainCONDITIONS: self denial and cross bearing ; you must decrease – become less important: bear His reproach. Forsaking all for Him ; there must be nothing more important than your desire or will to obediently follow Him. Discipleship promises many BLESSINGS: Spiritual light ; Divine guidance ; Heavenly honour and home . Beware of following like Judas (for the glory and prestige) or Peter (afar off) . “Know Him”: intimately: personally: statistically: not a “second hand” knowledge; not “someone said”; not casually.

This is the time when you really need to seek Him otherwise you get to the point where you have nothing to offer to God or others. Seek Him or you will forsake Him. Solomon stopped seeking and was drawn into idolatry. If you are not careful something else will take His place and fully occupy your time. True discipleship also requires your WORSHIP OF GOD. If God really means everything to you, then you must worship Him. It should be a constant daily expression; it should not begin and end at a certain time on Sundays only.
